CWSSU Meghalaya Faculty Recruitment 2026: 149 Professor, Associate & Assistant Professor Posts

Eligibility Criteria

For the Professor post, candidates must hold a Ph.D. in the concerned subject, be actively engaged in research, have a minimum of 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals with a Research Score of 120, and have at least 10 years of teaching experience as Assistant/Associate Professor/Professor or equivalent research experience. Alternatively, an outstanding professional with a Ph.D. and significant contribution to knowledge may apply. For the Associate Professor post, candidates need a Ph.D. in the concerned subject with a good academic record, a Master's degree with at least 55% marks, a minimum of 8 years of experience in teaching/research equivalent to Assistant Professor, and a minimum of 7 publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals with a Research Score of 75. For the Assistant Professor post, candidates must have a Master's degree with at least 55% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC Non-creamy Layer) in the concerned subject from an Indian or accredited foreign university. They must have cleared NET/CSIR-NET or SET-NE. Candidates with a Ph.D. under UGC Regulations 2009/2016 are exempted from NET/SLET/SET.

Application Fee

The application fee is Rs. 1,000 for General category candidates and Rs. 500 for ST/SC/OBC candidates. The fee must be paid online through the recruitment portal only. The fee, once paid, will not be refunded. Candidates should ensure they complete the payment before the last date.

Selection Process

The selection process differs slightly for Assistant Professor compared to Associate Professor and Professor posts. For Assistant Professor, shortlisting is based on academic score as per Appendix II Table 3A of UGC Regulations, 2018. For Associate Professor and Professor, shortlisting is based on verification of minimum eligibility, API Research Score, and evaluation of publications as per Appendix II Table 2 of UGC Regulations, 2018. Shortlisted candidates are called for a Personal Interview in the ratio of 1:3 for Assistant Professor and 1:5 each for Associate Professor and Professor. Final selection for all three posts is based entirely on performance in the Personal Interview. Candidates must produce all original documents relating to educational qualification, date of birth, caste, and community at the time of the interview. Candidates already in service must submit a No Objection Certificate from their current employer at the time of interview.

Salary Details

Selected candidates will receive pay as per the State University Pay Scales notified by the Government of Meghalaya. The basic pay for Assistant Professor is Rs. 57,700, for Associate Professor is Rs. 1,31,400, and for Professor is Rs. 1,44,200. Dearness Allowance (DA) and other allowances will be paid as per Government of Meghalaya norms.
