Eligibility Criteria for AP Police SI 2026
Eligibility varies by post. For SI Communication (Post Code 15), both men and women are eligible, while SI PTO (Post Code 16) is open to men only. The age limit for both posts is 21 to 27 years as on 1 July 2026. Candidates must have been born between 2 July 1999 and 1 July 2005.
Educational Qualification:
- SI Communication: Diploma or B.Tech in ECE, EEE, Computer Engineering, IT, or B.Sc. Electronics or equivalent.
- SI PTO: Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automobile Engineering or equivalent.
Age relaxation of up to 5 years is available for EWS, BC (Non-Creamy Layer), SC, and ST candidates as per rules.

Selection Process for Technical SI Posts
For SI Communication and SI PTO, the selection process consists of three stages. There is no preliminary written test for these technical posts.
- Physical Measurements Test (PMT): Minimum height for men is 162 cm with chest 84 cm plus 4 cm expansion. For women (Post Code 15), minimum height is 152.5 cm and weight 40 kg.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): A 1600-metre run must be completed within 10 minutes by men and 12 minutes 30 seconds by women. It is qualifying in nature.
- Final Written Examination: Three papers — Paper I English (qualifying, 100 marks), Paper II Arithmetic & Reasoning/Mental Ability (100 marks, merit), and Paper III Technical Paper (200 marks, merit). Total merit is calculated from Paper II and Paper III, i.e., 300 marks.

The estimated gross salary is around ₹78,700 per month, and the in-hand salary is approximately ₹65,000 to ₹68,900 per month, along with applicable allowances.
